July 2016 Wood stove installation

Here is the base for the wood stove, which should be installed tomorrow. Below is the chimney that was installed last month.

July 2016 Framed basement walls, created bedroom and closet

I Framed out and insulated all the cement walls in the basement. I created a bedroom and a closet, and insulated all the walls and ceilings in both. I wired in an 8 foot baseboard heater that will be installed after the bedroom is carpeted. I installed an additional 15 can lights in the basement for the bedroom and the hallways I created. The bedroom is sized so two sets of bunk beds will fit nicely. The sheetrock is all installed and the first coat of mud is completed. I wired in a lot of outlets. You cannot have too many outlets! I also wired in smoke detectors in the bedroom and in the hallway beside the bathroom.

June 2016 Rope Trim Installed

Here is the rope trim I installed everywhere the logs met a sheetrock wall. My wife Betsy, and Marilyn Dube dyed 130 feet of 3/4" cotton rope I purchased in Butte. I only have 10 feet left, so we get to dye rope again when the main floor is completed.

June 2016 Loft Floor Completed

The loft main floor is completed. I installed the Hand Scraped Maple Saddle that matches what I installed in both loft bedrooms. I now have to install hand rails in the loft and on the stairway.

June 2016 Loft bedrooms completed

The two bedrooms in the loft are 100% completed. The top two picture are the North bedroom showing the built-in book case. The bottom picture is the South bedroom. It also has a built-in bookcase. The closets in both bedrooms are complete with a clothes rod and a shelf above it.

June 2016 Trimming interior cabin windows in log walls

I finished trimming out the interior on all windows in the log walls in the cabin. I will trim out the doors in the log walls after I install the main floor flooring. I framed out the windows in the log walls in the garage. I will finish trimming them out when I have completed the house.
